Background Situation

Our parish continues to provide for the spiritual needs of the community. However, we find ourselves in need of renewed participation and support from our community. Rising costs and falling offerings being collected are putting a strain on our ability to properly maintain our parish mission, our buildings and our campus.

La situación de fondo

Nuestra parroquia continúa atendiendo las necesidades espirituales de la comunidad. Sin embargo, nos encontramos necesitando una renovada participación y apoyo de nuestra comunidad. El aumento de los costos y la disminución de las ofrendas que se recolectan están poniendo a prueba nuestra capacidad para mantener adecuadamente nuestra misión parroquial, nuestros edificios y nuestro campus.
Parish Mission / La misión parroquial
Everything the parish does is to fulfill its mission. Parishioners who share their gifts of time, talents and treasure support the parish's mission. 
Todo lo que hace la parroquia es para cumplir su misión. Los feligreses que comparten sus dones de tiempo, talentos y tesoros apoyan la misión de la parroquia.
​“Of One Heart” Program Purpose / Propósito del Programa “De un solo Corazón
​​The above graph shows how the parish is receiving less and less financial support (blue line), and we have not been able to reduce our expenses (red line) enough to keep up. ​​

The purpose of the “Of One Heart” Program is:
  • To inspire and engage parishioners in the parish’s missionary work
  • To foster financial AND physical support of our mission as a form of disciple-making​ ​
​​​El gráfico de arriba muestra que la parroquia recibe menos apoyo financiero (línea azul) cada año y no hemos podido reducir nuestros gastos (línea roja) lo suficiente para minimizar las perdidas financieras.​

El propósito del Programa “De Un Solo Corazón” es:
  • Inspirar e involucrar a los feligreses en el trabajo misionero de la parroquia.
  • Fomentar el apoyo financiero Y físico para nuestra misión como una forma de hacer discípulos.
​Our Co-Responsibility for the Parish's Mission

Both the clergy and the laity play integral and important roles in the mission of the Church within the parish:
  • Parishioners are “co-heirs” to heavenly salvation through acceptance of God. We therefore are “co-responsible” for the Church entrusted to us on a local level and help bring forth the Gospel to our homes and community.
  • The Parish, under the guidance of its pastor, is entrusted with responsibly administering the spiritual and material/financial gifts parishioners bring to the church to most effectively evangelize the community. Those gifts are put to use in making disciples and supporting parishioners’ needs.
Nuestra Corresponsabilidad por la Misión Parroquial
Tanto el clero como los laicos juegan un papel integral e importante en la misión de la Iglesia dentro de la parroquia:
  • Los feligreses son "coherederos" de la salvación celestial a través de la aceptación de Dios. Por lo tanto, somos "corresponsables" de la Iglesia que se nos ha confiado a nivel local y ayudamos a llevar el Evangelio a nuestros hogares y comunidad.
  • La parroquia, bajo la guía de su pastor, se encarga de administrar responsablemente los dones espirituales, materiales y financieros que los feligreses traen a la iglesia para evangelizar de manera más efectiva a la comunidad. Esos dones se usan para hacer discípulos y apoyar las necesidades de los feligreses.

How you can be "Of One Heart" /  Cómo puedes ser "De Un Solo Corazón"

The lay people who are part of the church are called to give of all of their resources. After all, those resources are God-given and meant to be shared with one another. Can you please help us through the following 3 ways?

An important part of stewardship is making sure you are made aware of what your support helps with. In order to do that, we need to keep in touch with you!
  • If you are not yet registered with St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, please register and make us your home within the Catholic Church!
  • If you are already registered, please complete our form to ensure we have updated contact information for you.
​Una parte importante de la corresponsabilidad es asegurarse de que sepa en qué ayuda su apoyo. ¡Para hacer eso, necesitamos mantenernos en contacto con usted!

Share your skills /

Please let us know what skills you have to share with us! We will add your name to a list of people to contact when we have a need.
  • Do you have experience as a painter, roofer, plumber, electrician, etc.? 
  • Do you know accounting, business management, etc.?
We would like to know about it so that we can contact you when an opportunity comes up to ask if you can help us! Just include that on the "Of One Heart" form.
