The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a process through which adults are initiated into the Catholic Church. The OCIA is for the non-baptized, Baptized Christians of other faiths, Baptized Catholic, and Catholics that want to learn more about their Catholic Faith. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at mass. Participants that are non-baptized are known as catechumens, and those baptized are known as candidates. They undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.
The OCIA is 9-month preparation. (October - June)

¡Bienvenido a Casa!
El Orden de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos (OICA) es un proceso a través del cual los adultos se inician en la Iglesia Católica. El OICA es para los cristianos no bautizados, bautizados de otras religiones, católicos bautizados y católicos que desean aprender más sobre su fe católica. Incluye varias etapas marcadas por el estudio, la oración y los ritos en la misa. Los participantes que no están bautizados se conocen como catecúmenos, y los bautizados se conocen como candidatos. Se someten a un proceso de conversión a medida que estudian el Evangelio, profesan la fe en Jesús y en la Iglesia Católicay reciben los sacramentos del bautismo, la confirmación y la Sagrada Eucarisía.
El OICA es de 9 meses de preparación. (Octubre - Junio)
El viaje de OICA con Cristo comenzará el lunes 7 de octubre de 2024,

SPONSORS / GODPARENTS
REQUIREMENTS & FORM:
SPONSORS/GODPARENTS:
It is a Church requirement that Adults receiving baptism or confirmation have a
Sponsor to accompany them on their faith journey and to ensure their entrance into the church.
Sponsors are for those candidates receiving Confirmation; and Godparents are for those
receiving Baptism; those receiving Baptism are called Catechumens.
I. Church Requirements: For Sponsors and Godparents:
1. Must be Baptized, made their Communion and be Confirmed in the faith.
2. Must be practicing Catholics.
3. Must be in conformity with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
4. If married, must be married in the Catholic Church.
(Can’t be married by the Justice of the Peace, any other religion or living with significant other. If Single must be living a single life with Christ.)
II. OCIA Requirements: for Sponsors and Godparents:
1. Must be over 18 years of age.
2. Parents cannot sponsor their child.
3. Sponsors cannot sponsor their spouse.
4. Sponsors must attend the Monday Journey with their candidate. (with some exceptions)
5. Sponsors must be present at the official rites of the RCIA, (this takes place at Mass)
There are four major Rites, 2 presentations and 3 scrutinies.
6. Sponsors must attend the three sponsor meetings.

Mass / MisaBe committed to attend 10 am mass every Sunday, live out your catholic faith and grow in your life with Christ. It is the RCIA designated mass.
